2011 SECCO HSSE Seminar / Customer Conference was successfully carried out Date：2011-09-23    By：SECCO
For the purpose of improving the HSSE awareness of SECCO customers as well as strengthening the communication with customers, 2011 SECCO HSSE seminar for Hazardous & Toxic Chemicals / Customer Conference was held as planned in Xi’an during Sep. 15--16. Roughly about 100 representatives from both Olefins/AN/Aromatics customers and SECCO relevant departments attended this seminar, shared their HSSE experiences & lessons, and discussed on improvement measures in future.

Unlike the past annual seminar, this one was held just after Sep. 8th fire accident. In order to appreciate all the customers’ concerns & understandings for this accident, dispel the doubts of SECCO production resumption and contract implementation after the accident, and avoid further spreading of rumors among customers, Olefins/AN Business Manager Mr. Jin Baoyuan briefed the audience on the salient details of the Sep. 8th fire accident. Then, Mr. Jin thanked all the customers for their trust, support and cooperation as always to SECCO ever since it was established ten years ago. He reviewed Olefins/AN products’ businesses and markets, and analyzed various impacts from both feedstock and derivatives.

Concerning the topic discussions of hazardous chemicals’ production & transportation safety, SECCO HSSE Manager Mr. Qu Huantao made a presentation to share with everyone about SECCO HSSE concepts and practices. Representatives from Shanghai Bohui Chemical, Zhenjiang Chimei, and Jiangyin Golden Bridge also delivered speeches to introduce their own experiences of their successful cooperation with SECCO.

Finally, Commercial Director Mr. Tan Heeteik shared his views on China’s macro-economy, and sent his advice to all the guests with four characters ——“San Xin Er Yi”. “San Xin” refers to Confidence, Patience and Caution; “Er Yi” means strong market sense and willpower. Mr. Tan also thanked all the customers for their unwavering trust, support, coordination and understanding, and apologized for any unfavorable consequences caused to our customers due to Sep. 8th fire accident.

2011 SECCO HSSE Seminar / Customer Conference was successfully carried out in a relaxed & harmonious atmosphere. Although Sep. 8th fire accident has occurred, the success of this seminar / conference still highlight SECCO Management’s great emphasis on HSSE initiatives, and demonstrate SECCO’s belief & decision of adhering to the strictest HSSE standards in the world. Meanwhile, it also strengthens the contacts between SECCO and customers and enables our partnerships to scale new heights.
