The “SECCO Road Safety Month” event at the Caojing Primary School was successfully conducted from November to December 2003.

“SECCO Road Safety School Tour” was staged in Jinshan in May 2004 which covered more than 7000 pupils of 10 primary schools in Jinshan.

SECCO is within Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, which is located on the boundary between Jinshan and Fengxian districts. With the aim of achieving coordinated development, establishing long-term sound relationship and implementing the commitment of ”being a good neighbor”. SECCO took the lead in planning and actively participating in two community meetings held on March 4, 2004 and August 10th between SCIP investors and the Management Committee of the Jin Shan subordinate to SCIP and Fengxian subordinate to SCIP. Different from the ordinary seminars, these two meetings were jointly attended by the local government, deputies to the National People’s Congress, the representatives from the village management committees as well as the representatives from hospitals and schools at the grass roots level, exchanging ideas with the enterprises inside the SCIP with nil distance. All the investment companies inside the SCIP expressed such a distinct theme：attaching great importance to the environmental protection, safety and healthcare, being a good neighbor to the community as well as seeking ways for joint development. What is really encouraging is that the local government also expressed their commitment to establish a clean, health and safe community. Both parties explore the possibility of long-term mutual development through supplementing resources each other. SECCO hoped to set up more direct channel of communication with people in the community by this means, with a view to achieving the scientific and more humane social impact management.
