On December
3rd, IPMT olefin package team attended the kick-off
meeting of ethylene package which is the major project
of Secco's 900ktpa ethylene project in Houston and
the meeting itself marking the PDP of the project
in full swing.
|

On December
10th, a celebratory reception was held in the Great
Hall of the People, Beijing to mark the formation
of Shanghai Secco. Mr.Chen Jinhua, vice chairman
of CPPCC, Mr. Sheng Huaren, member of the standing
committee of NPC, and leaders from state planning
commission, state economic and trade commission,
CCB, ICBC, CDB, and Shanghai Municipal government
also attended the reception. Mr. Li Yizhong, chairman
of Sinopec, Mr.Chen Tonghai, vice chairman of Sinopec,
Mr.Wang Jiming, president of Sinopec, Mr. Liu Wenlong,
and other people in charge from Sinopec corporate
headquarters, Mr. Lu Yiping, chairman& GM of
SPC, Mr.Xu Kaicheng, vice chairman of SPC, Mr.Byron
Grote, BP's managing director and chief executive
of BP¡¯s chemicals businesses, Mr.Gary Dirks, VP
of BP and CEO of BP China, Mr.Graham Hunt, chairman
of BP China attended the reception.

On December
11th, Sinopec, SPC and BP chemicals held a return
banquet for the formation of Shanghai Secco Petrochemical
Co., Ltd in Shanghai, to express their sincere gratitude
to the long-term and energetic support from Shanghai
Municipal government, various commissions and offices,
and relating parties. Mr. Jiang Yiren, vice mayor
of Shanghai attended the return banquet.

11th, the second BOD of Secco meeting was held in
Shanghai.
|

On December
24th, the joint venture initialed a loan agreement
with eight domestic banks and two international
banks in Shanghai.

16th, the first BOD meeting of Secco was convened
in Beijing.

On November
2nd, JV business department manager meeting was
convened.

11th, the first meeting of the pre-joint venture
was convened in Shanghai, presided by Mr. John Morgan
and Mr. Liu Xunfeng.

15th, the fifth IPMT meeting was convened at Jinshan
Hotel.

23rd, Mr.Wang Jiming, president of Sinopec, met
with Lord John Browne, CEO of BP, Mr.Byron Grote.

On October
29th, JV received the business license issued by
Shanghai Industry& Commercial Administration.
Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co., Ltd was established.

On September
13th, MOFTEC approved the establishment of the joint
venture invested by Sinopec, SPC, and BP by issuing
No.835 document of MOFTEC and an approval certificate.

On September
15th, a fire fighting expert demonstration meeting
of ethylene battery limit was convened in Shanghai.
|
|
September,
on September 30th, joint venture partners jointly
completed the pre-information memo which was sent
to nine domestic banks and 7 overseas banks to solicit
preliminary opinions from them.

On August 8th,
the seventh meeting of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa ethylene
project steering team was held at No.312 conference
room in Shanghai Municipal government and chaired
by Mr. Chen Tonghai. Mr. Cheng Liangyu, Mr.Wangjiming,
Mr.Jiang Yiren, and other members of the steering
team attended the meeting.

On August 28th,
State planning commission forwarded the approval
from State council on the FSR of Shanghai Secco
900ktpa ethylene project in No. 1616 document of
2001of the State planning commission.

On August 31st,
joint venture contract and articles of association
of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa ethylene project were
signed in Beijing jointly by Sinopec, SPC and BP.

On May 8th,
Lummus held an introduction meeting on the conceptual
bid proposal.
|
|
On May 12th,
State Bureau of Environment Protection approved
the environment impact assessment report of Shanghai
Secco 900ktpa ethylene project in the No.95 environment
review &approval document in 2001.

|
On March 6th,
the joint FSR of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa ethylene
project was signed by Sinopec, SPC, BPCECIL in Beijing.
It was agreed that the confirmed content of FSR
would be submitted to the government appraisal&
examination authority as the official report.

On March 8th,
the application letter for approval of FSR of Shanghai
Secco 900ktpa ethylene project was officially submitted
to the State Planning Commission and relating government
appraisal& examination authority.
|
|
On March 27th,
the pre-IPMT meeting of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa ethylene
project was convened. The project was launched before
receiving the approval from the government authority.

On Jan 22nd,
the sixth meeting of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa ethylene
project steering team was held at No.312 conference
room in Shanghai Municipal government and chaired
