On the afternoon
of November 21st, Secco officially signed the olefin
plant EP contract with ABB Lummus in Four Season
Hotel, Shanghai.

22nd, the sixth BOD meeting of Secco was held in
Shanghai.

of the principal part project of Shanghai Secco
900ktpa ethylene project started.

24th, the fifth BOD meeting of Secco was held in
Shanghai.

On September
22nd, the eighth meeting of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa
ethylene project steering team was held at the conference
room in Shanghai Municipal government and chaired
by Mr. Chen Tonghai. Mr.Jiang Yiren, Mr.Wangjiming,
Mr. Jiang Shangzhou and other members of the team
also attended the meeting.

August 24th
– 26th, the general design of Shanghai Secco 900ktpa
ethylene project officially passed the review in
Shanghai.

On June 29th,
Secco initialed the onshore& offshore E&P
contract of olefin package with the representatives
fro ABB Lummus and SEI.

On June 14th,
the fourth BOD meeting of Secco was held in Shanghai.
|

On May 8th,
the newly designed company logo of Secco was officially
released and started to use.
|

On April 26th,
the BOD passed the resolution by means of circulating
reading and signing, and reviewed, approved the
annual accounting report of 2001 of Secco.

On April 16th,
Mr. Wang Jiming, Chairman of Secco, and Mr. Graham
Hunt, vice chairman of Secco, cut the ribbon for
the successful running of the SAP finance software
Secco finance. It marked that the finance examination
and calculation software in Secco finance department
was put into full use.

On April 19th,
Secco signed the onshore technical service contract
of EB/SM with Shanghai medical industry design institute
and signed the offshore technical service contract
of EB/SM with ABB Lummus Shanghai on behalf of ABB
Lummus Global Inc.

On March 28th,
the groundbreaking ceremony of Shanghai Secco Petrochemical
Company Ltd (SECCO) 900,000 tonnes per annum (tpa)
ethylene cracker project was held in Shanghai Chemical
Industrial Park. Mr. Huang Ju, member of the Poli-bureau,
Central Committee of CPC and Party Secretary of
Shanghai Municipality activated the pile driver
and witnessed the first pile being driven into the
ground to mark the start of construction. Among
VIP participants were Mr. Chen Jinhua, Vice Chairman
of CPPCC; Mr. Sheng Huanren, member of the standing
committee of NPC; Mr. Chen Liangyu, Mayor of Shanghai
Municipality, Mr. Zhang Guobao, vice director of
state planning commission, Mr. Li Yizhong, CEO Sinopec
Group and Chairman of Sinopec Corp; Mr. Jiang Yiren,
Executive Vice Mayor of Shanghai; Mr. Wang Jiming,
President of Sinopec Corp; Mr. Cao Xianghong, Vice
President of Sinopec Corp; Dr. Byron Grote, BP Managing
Director and CEO BP Chemicals. Leaders from CPC
Shanghai committee and Shanghai Municipal government
briefly met with representatives from each shareholder.
A press conference was held before the meeting to
introduce the situation and to answer the questions
from the reporters.

the designing and coordination meeting of Secco
900ktpa ethylene project was held in Beijing.

On March 3rd,
the third BOD meeting of Secco was held in Shanghai.

On January
11th, the signing ceremony of loan agreement of
Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co., Ltd was held in
Beijing.

On January
11th, in the signing ceremony of loan agreement,
it was announced that AMEC was awarded as the IPMT
supporting contractor and ABB Lummus was awarded
as the EP contractor of Shanghai Secco.

|
On January
21st, the contract signing ceremony of land use
right transfer was signed Shanghai Secco petrochemical
Co., Ltd between Development Company of SCIP in
Shanghai. It marked the leading project of SCIP-Shanghai
Secco 900ktpa ethylene project was officially settled
in SCIP.
